On this occasion, Mr. Santisouk Simmalavong stated in the ceremony that the government always places importance and dedication on encouraging, developing, and promoting Lao children to grow up. Each year provides a good opportunity for us to review the implementation of party policies, state legislation, and socio-economic development plans, including sustainable development goals related to maternal and child work, as well as international and ASEAN agreements concerning children, in which the Lao PDR is a participant. These include the Convention on the Rights of the Child, aiming to ensure the survival, development, protection, and participation of Lao children of all ethnicities, allowing them to have a happy, warm, and well-cared-for childhood from parents, family, society, and all organizational levels. Furthermore, he called on all sectors to enhance their responsibility and work harder to implement maternal and child work, addressing current issues, challenges, and pending matters, ensuring that children receive warm love and care from parents, family, community, society, and all organizational levels, so they can develop and have a bright future, growing into quality adults who are strong human resources for the nation, continuing the mission of protecting and developing the country towards prosperity.
